You need to maintain a good ratio of omega-3 to omega-6 fatty acids intake. Avoid eating grain based oils and cottonseed oils to limit your intake of omega-6 fatty acids which are harmful to your body causing inflammatory and degenerative diseases. Foods that you can get more omega-3 fats from are walnuts, hemp seeds and fish oil.

Read your labels carefully! Anything that contains BPA should be avoided because its known to be carcinogenic and estrogenic. This chemical is found in canned foods and bottled drinks. Avoid processed sugar, high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) and soybean oil. Salad dressings and ketchup have a high content of HFCS. Consumption of these chemicals can lead to obesity, diabetes and heart disease.
